About the Role:
Giffels-Webster Engineers (GWE) is seeking a Construction Inspector for a multi-year septic-to-sewer conversion in Ruskin, FL. This role involves daily field inspections of underground utility construction—gravity mains, force mains, vacuum systems—and close coordination with contractors and the project team.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect water and sewer installation for compliance with plans and specs
  • Document daily activities, issues, and test results using digital tools
  • Coordinate with contractor crews, engineers, and the project team
  • Monitor safety, quality, and construction sequencing
  • Support project reporting, pay application tracking, and closeout documentation
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and provide field updates

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years inspecting water/sewer infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of underground utility construction
  • Able to read and interpret plans, specs, and permits
  • Good communication and field documentation skills
  • Public project experience
