We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior CEI Inspector to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attend construction progress meetings (when required)
  • Participate in the inspection of construction projects to assure compliance with specifications, city standards, regulations, and safety conditions. Inspections include: pavements, bridge structures, retaining walls, sidewalks, channels, water distribution/transmission mains, wastewater collection systems, tunnels, buildings, and other engineered facilities on public property in public rights of way and easements.
  • Review project plans and specifications for completeness, accuracy and compliance with city standards and specifications; recommend changes and improvements as appropriate.
  • Understand and interpret engineering plans and specifications associated with civil engineering projects.
  • Maintain detailed records and information to include daily inspector’s reports and digital photographic records of work.
  • Make field measurements and calculations as necessary. Report work not in accordance with specifications and recommend work stoppage for non-compliance.
  • Prepare inspection checklists, interim and final punch lists, conduct final walk-through and verify project completion including close out documents and warranty items.
  • Coordinate, collect and perform earthwork and concrete sampling for testing, and review reports for conformance with specifications. Simultaneously handle multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity under pressure of deadlines. Issue notices of non-compliance, stop notices, and field orders, as required.
  • City, municipal and State (FDOT) Standards and Specifications and other applicable regulations and standards related to construction inspection.
  • Methods, procedures, and materials used in construction.
  • Proper public works inspection methods and practices.
  • SWPPP compliance procedures and reporting protocols.
  • Basic math as applied to construction inspection.
  • Record-keeping techniques.
  • Plan and organize work.
  • Inspect construction projects for quality control/quality assurance and compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and regulations.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Perform required engineering computations.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

LICENSING AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP) certifications required.
  • Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 years’ experience in construction inspection.
  • 4 years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
