Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Construction Engineer for transportation road & highways projects based in Phoenix, AZ. The role requires on-site work, inspecting construction activities, ensuring compliance with contract documents, and performing material testing and sampling across roadway and bridge projects.

The position supports our PMCM team with daily documentation, progress tracking, and change orders. Travel within Arizona may be required, with a focus on safety and quality in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience inspecting bridge and roadway construction projects.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• ATTI, ACI and ATSSA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily inspection reports and material testing for acceptance.
• Confirm traffic control complies with State and Local Standards.
• Document daily findings, contractor manpower and equipment.
• Draft Contract Change Orders and assist in pay quantities and Final Estimate.
• Support monthly progress payments and project documentation.

This position will be on-site, and the responsibilities includes inspecting construction activities, verifying that work completed by contractors is in accordance with contract documents for roadway and bridge projects; material testing and sampling; tracking quantities and documenting contractors' work.This position will be based out of our office in Phoenix, AZ and will be expected to work in various areas throughout Arizona.This posting is intended to gather expressions of interest from the Construction Engineer position for anticipated opportunities expected to arise over the next 3-6 months. While an immediate vacancy may not be available, we are building relationships with talented professionals who are interested in joining our growing PMCM team as new projects and hiring needs materialize.Responsibilities & QualificationsResponsibilities:Complete daily inspection reports, materials sampling and testing for acceptance.Confirm traffic control complies with State and Local Standards.Assure documentation, and accuracy of daily findings.Daily documentation of contractor manpower and equipment.Abide by and enforce construction safety rules and regulations.Read and understand contract documents, including plans and specifications.Assure compliance with standards and specifications.Assure documentation, and accuracy of monthly progress payments.Assist in the documentation of pay quantities and development of the Final Estimate.Draft Contract Change OrdersAccurately track change order payments.Log and track material inspection, certification, and acceptance for the project.Other duties as needed.Qualifications:At least 2+ years of experience in the inspection of bridge and roadway construction projects.ATTI, ACI and ATSSA certification preferred.Previous internship experience in the inspection of bridge and roadway construction projects.Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.Reliable transportation required and may be required to work holidays and/or nights and/or weekends.A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferredAdditional Information#LI-DNPTYLin offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
