Job summary

Centura College seeks an experienced Electrician/Construction Electrician to join as a Construction Electrician Instructor (Electrical Trades Instructor). You will provide classroom and hands-on lab instruction on core electrical concepts and construction trade practices.

You will teach topics including basic electricity, electrical services, conduit installation, controls, life safety, and construction safety. Schedule includes weekday daytime and evening sessions at our Norfolk campus.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; vocational/technical training preferred.
Minimum 4 years in electrical or construction trades.
Previous teaching experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Teach electrical trades classes on a regularly scheduled basis.
Create a welcoming and engaging learning environment for students.
Deliver hands-on instruction in classroom and lab settings.
Assist with curriculum development and course material preparation.
Maintain classroom tools, lab equipment, and instructional materials.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
Submit evaluations, reports, and required documentation on time.
Support student retention and academic success initiatives.
Participate in instructor training, faculty meetings, and professional development.
Assist with equipment and supply inventory management.
Communicate student attendance concerns and performance issues to leadership.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
