Job summary

BSI Consulting Services in Reno, NV is seeking an Associate Safety Consultant to join a team of high-performing Construction EHS professionals. The role focuses on leading safety initiatives, audits, and training to improve site safety and compliance.

The candidate will bring a minimum of five years’ construction safety experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong knowledge of OSHA standards to drive risk reduction and promote safe work practices on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience required (7 years minimum, if no degree has been obtained).
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local EHS regulations in dynamic construction environments.
• Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to assess risks, identify improvements, and implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to pursue and ability to obtain advanced safety certifications such as STSC, CHST, or CSP.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to large-scale construction projects by initiating and attending meetings, performing site walks, and ensuring contract requirements are in place.
• Perform construction safety field audits and field data collection using a variety of system platforms.
• Analyze worker health and safety data for negative and positive trends.
• Educate various stakeholder groups on EHS requirements and best practices.
• Lead incident investigations to drive future improvement, safe conditions and work practices.
