Job summary

BSI Consulting Services is seeking an experienced EHS Consultant with a Construction Safety background to support a major capital program in an Owner’s representative capacity. You will provide strategic EHS governance and oversight across projects, while ensuring daily field safety remains with contractors.

This role emphasizes governance, stakeholder alignment, and measurable safety performance across the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in EHS, Engineering, Sciences, Construction Management, or related field.
• Professional safety certification such as CSP, ASP, or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience leading EHS governance for large capital or construction programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic EHS advisory, governance, coordination, and oversight across major capital and construction projects.
• Serve as an Owner-side EHS program resource, supporting leadership in establishing and maintaining consistent safety expectations.
• Establish roles, responsibilities, and accountability between Owner, EHS, Construction Managers, and General Contractors via a Safety Responsibility Matrix.
• Maintain separation between Owner oversight and contractor responsibilities for daily field safety and site plans.
• Review corporate and project EHS requirements to identify gaps and document deviations.
• Translate organizational EHS standards into requirements for large-scale construction environments.
• Develop standardized EHS governance processes, procedures, and tools across projects.
• Develop leading indicators, KPIs, dashboards, and safety performance measures.
• Establish incident reporting, escalation, investigation, and stop-work protocols across projects.
• Coordinate among Owner representatives, EHS stakeholders, project teams, CM, and GC to align safety expectations.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen program-level EHS governance.
