Job summary

McFarland Construction is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead safety and environmental compliance across our commercial construction projects in Charleston, SC. The role emphasizes developing site-specific policies, inspections, audits, and incident investigations to maintain a strong safety culture.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in EHS for construction, OSHA 1926 knowledge, OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and experience training teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field is required.
• 1–3 years of EHS experience; construction exposure preferred.
• OSHA 1926 construction standards knowledge with OSHA 30-Hour certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific EHS policies and procedures.
• Conduct hazard assessments and implement corrective actions.
• Perform regular site inspections and ensure proper PPE usage.
• Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Investigate incidents and prepare reports with preventive actions.
• Maintain EHS records and report to regulatory agencies.
