Job summary

McFarland Construction seeks an Senior EHS Specialist to lead safety and environmental compliance across our construction projects. This hands-on role develops site-specific EHS policies, conducts inspections, delivers training, and investigates incidents to ensure a safe, compliant work environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of EHS experience in commercial construction, OSHA knowledge, and a passion for building a strong safety culture on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field; 1–3 years EHS in construction preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards.
• OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Safety certification required.
• Experience managing subcontractor safety compliance and site safety plans.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain site-specific EHS policies and procedures.
• Conduct hazard assessments and corrective actions.
• Lead site inspections, PPE compliance, and audit follow-ups.
• Deliver EHS training and toolbox talks to crews.
• Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain records and submit regulatory reports.
