Job summary

DAVIS in Rockville, MD, is seeking an EHS Engineer to eliminate hazards and apply advanced safety principles across construction projects. The role involves enforcing safety standards, conducting inspections, and guiding trade partners to ensure compliant, safe operations.

The candidate will lead hazard analyses, participate in incident investigations, and develop training materials while coordinating with project teams to minimize risk and protect personnel and property.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health + Safety Sciences or related field; equivalent combinations may substitute.
• Experience in occupational Environmental Health + Safety or related field.
• Construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform field safety inspections and hazard control.
• Document findings and follow-up actions using EHS systems.
• Communicate observed risks clearly to field personnel and trade partners.
• Review Pre-Task Plans, Job Hazard Analyses, and high-risk work plans.
• Collaborate with project teams to improve planning and risk management.
• Deliver and co-instruct EHS trainings in field and classroom settings.
• Participate in incident investigations and support corrective actions.
• Assist with project EHS audits and start-up activities.
• Maintain records and support EHS data reporting and analytics.
