Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an open-minded student intern to gain hands-on experience in construction environmental health and safety (EH&S). You will assist project teams in managing EH&S programs on active construction sites and in office settings.

Qualified applicants are pursuing a degree in EH&S or related field. This 10–12 week program includes safety onboarding, site inspections, and incident investigations, with potential housing support and relocation to remote

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in EH&S or related field.
• Pursuing degree in environmental health and safety management or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to relocate to a remote site if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safety onboarding and safety meeting processes.
• Assist in performing regular job site inspections and document findings.
• Assist in evaluating permits (Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Excavation, etc.).
• Assist in incident investigations including interviews, data compilation, photos, and documentation.
