Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is offering an EH&S internship for undergraduates and graduates to gain hands-on experience on active construction projects in South Carolina. The program is designed to develop practical EH&S skills through real- world site exposure.

Assignments include both office and job-site activities, with potential relocation to a remote site. Housing may be provided in certain situations, and transportation is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in environmental health and safety management or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated interest in construction EH&S is desirable.
• Ability to work on office and job-site settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safety onboarding and safety meeting processes.
• Assist in performing regular job-site inspections to identify hazards and verify corrective actions.
• Assist in evaluating planning/permits (e.g., Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection) for mitigation.
• Assist in incident investigations including interviews, data collection and documentation.
