Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an EH&S internship for undergraduate and graduate students in the Atlanta area. You will support project teams by learning EH&S management on construction sites, with assignments across office and job sites.

Preferred candidates are pursuing a degree in environmental health and safety management or a related field, with strong communications and teamwork skills. Transportation is required; housing may be provided in certain situations.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing EH&S or related field.
• Interest in gaining hands-on EH&S project experience on construction sites.
• Willingness to relocate to remote sites if required.
• Must have transportation.
• Housing may be provided in certain situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safety onboarding and safety meeting processes.
• Assist in job site inspections and mitigation recommendations.
• Assist in evaluating planning/permits such as Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Excavation, Steel Erection, Energized Work, Pre-cast Tilt-Up as examples for effective and appropriate mitigation techniques.
• Assist in incident investigations including interviews, data compilation, photographs and completing proper documentation.
