Job summary

Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Charleston, SC invites undergrad or graduate students pursuing an EH&S degree to join as an Intern for 10–12 weeks, 40 hours/week, to gain hands-on experience in construction EH&S.

Responsibilities include safety onboarding, site inspections, permit evaluations (Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Excavation), and incident investigations while supporting the safety culture on project teams.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing an EH&S related degree.
• Experience with safety onboarding and site inspections is a plus.
• Willingness to relocate to remote sites if required and to work on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safety onboarding and safety meeting processes.
• Assist in performing regular job site inspections to identify and document hazards.
• Assist in evaluating planning/permits such as Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Excavation.
• Assist in incident investigations including interviewing and documenting findings.
