Job summary

Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG) is seeking a driven Sales Representative to grow our commercial door and hardware business across North America.

You will manage the sales process from initial contact to final signature, build lasting client partnerships, prepare bids, and collaborate with vendors, project teams, and internal departments to ensure on-time, accurate proposals and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a construction-related environment.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong math aptitude.
• Familiarity with industry-specific software.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Knowledge of commercial door and hardware products and building code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular contact with assigned customers to monitor project progress and identify new business opportunities.
• Develop new customer relationships within assigned territories.
• Attend project meetings and manage projects through proactive communication, vendor coordination, and collaboration with warehouse and shipping teams.
• Obtain construction plans and specifications promptly for accurate bid preparation.
• Participate in take-offs and interpret specifications to optimize bid opportunities.
• Prepare and submit accurate, timely bids that meet customer and company standards.
• Follow up on bid results and negotiate to secure awarded projects.
• Build strong vendor relationships and source competitive pricing to improve bid competitiveness and margins.
• Monitor billing and costing regularly, addressing gross margin concerns proactively.
• Maintain ongoing communication with vendors regarding service issues, product updates, and training opportunities.
• Visit jobsites as needed to attend meetings, monitor progress, and resolve project-related issues.
• Attend sales meetings to evaluate market opportunities and align on assignments.
• Support the development of team members through coaching, coordination, and issue resolution.
• Stay current on door and hardware products, building codes, and industry standards through ongoing education (e.g., DHI).
• Proactively identify and resolve customer or internal issues related to sales activities.
• Participate in physical inventories by counting or verifying assigned areas.
• Attend all required sales meetings and company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Sales and corporate objectives.
