Job summary

Blue Ribbon Exteriors & Construction in Denver, CO seeks an experienced Construction Director of Operations to lead projects, strengthen operations, and support growth in residential and commercial sectors. You will manage preconstruction through closeout, supervise Project Managers and Superintendents, coordinate OAC meetings, and drive improvements in scheduling, budgeting, and client satisfaction.

Construction Director - Operations

Denver, CO (Metro Area) | Full-Time

Blue Ribbon Exteriors & Construction is looking for an experienced Director of Construction Operations to lead projects, strengthen operations, and support our continued growth in both residential and commercial construction.

This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, leading high-performing teams, improving processes, and delivering exceptional projects from preconstruction through closeout.

What You'll Do

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Meet with prospective clients to understand project goals and budgets
  • Develop scopes, estimates, proposals, and project plans
  • Build long-term relationships with homeowners, business owners, architects, designers, and trade partners
  • Support business growth through outstanding client service and repeat business

Estimating & Preconstruction

  • Prepare and review estimates using Buildertrend
  • Analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals
  • Review plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Develop budgets, schedules, and value engineering recommendations
  • Participate in design and preconstruction meetings

Project Management

  • Oversee projects from planning through completion
  • Manage schedules, budgets, procurement, subcontractors, change orders, and project closeout
  • Lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, quality, and client satisfaction
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively

Operations & Leadership

  • Improve construction processes and standard operating procedures
  • Strengthen coordination between sales, estimating, and production
  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and support Project Managers and Superintendents
  • Foster accountability, communication, and continuous improvement across the team
What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days, you'll be expected to:

  • Contribute to new project opportunities through client meetings and estimating
  • Manage active projects with confidence and professionalism
  • Build strong relationships with clients and trade partners
  • Demonstrate organized leadership and sound decision-making
  • Recommend improvements that strengthen operations and project delivery
Qualifications

We're looking for a construction leader with experience in residential construction, remodeling, custom homes, or a related field. Commercial construction experience is a plus.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience managing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Strong estimating and budgeting skills
  • Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications
  • Ability to analyze subcontractor and vendor proposals
  • Experience leading client and project coordination meetings
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, forecasting, and project financial management
  • Experience with construction management software; Buildertrend preferred
  • Experience developing processes and operating procedures
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing construction professionals
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting base salary of $75,000 - $80,000, based on experience during the initial 90-day probationary period, increasing to $95,000 annually upon successful completion, plus performance-based incentives.
