Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a Construction Design/Build Project Manager Intern/Co-op in North Carolina. You will engage in the full project lifecycle, from concept through delivery, with mentoring from experienced professionals.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in estimating, scheduling, design meetings, reporting, and site visits, while developing professional skills and industry knowledge in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered)
• Driver's License
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
• Previous Co-op or Intern experience in construction preferred, but not required
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Concept to Completion Approach – understand project flow from concept through final delivery
• Estimating and Takeoffs – describe proposals and assign dollars
• Scheduling – assist in creating timelines for subcontractors/trades
• Design Meetings – attend meetings with owner and design team
• Reporting – prepare weekly reports and track action items
• Shadowing – join project calls and site meetings
• Buyout – issue bid instructions and assist with awarding subcontracts
• Permitting – submit permit applications with required documents
• Shop Drawing & Submittal Review – route submittals and communicate approvals
• Billing – learn about subcontracts, change orders, pay requests
• Job Site Visits – observe progress with DBMs
• Training & Learning – participate in trainings and mentorship
• Business Development – learn client relationship building strategies
