Job summary

The Erosion Company is currently hiring a Construction Crew Leader to oversee a 2-3 person crew on erosion control projects throughout the Southeast. This role emphasizes safety, on-time task execution, and hands-on supervision of material loading and equipment operation.

The ideal candidate has prior crew lead experience, the ability to follow directions in English, and is capable of working in diverse weather conditions while operating machinery such as Bobcats and trailers."

Qualifications

• Must have prior work experience as a Crew Lead.
• Must have experience operating small machinery such as Bobcat and other excavating equipment.
• Prior experience driving ½ or ¾ ton trucks with a 20+ foot trailer attached, fully loaded.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Must pass DOT physical and drug screen.
• Must have a valid driver's license and three years verifiable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily tasks according to scheduled routes.
• Supervise and train a 2-3 person crew and monitor attendance and productivity.
• Review daily work orders and verify materials loaded for daily assignments.
• Promote and enforce safety standards and resolve problems on site.
• Monitor project details, progress, risks and opportunities; report to Area Quality Managers promptly.
• Assist crew with loading/unloading materials and terrain preparation.
• Install erosion control measures and perform site cleanup after job completion.

Job description

The Erosion Company (TEC) is currently hiring a Construction Crew Leader. TEC is the largest and most experienced contractor in providing comprehensive erosion control services, specialty materials, forestry, and other site clean-up services to clients throughout the Southeast. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate daily tasks according to scheduled routes.
• Responsible for monitoring attendance and productivity of a 2-3-person crew.
• Provide supervision and training to all crew members.
• Review daily work orders, inspect and verify that the materials loaded to the vehicle are adequate to complete the daily assignment.
• Adhere to Company Safety Standards and promote safety culture among crew members, including the proper use of machinery and equipment, and resolve problems when they arise.
• Monitor and report to Area Quality Managers of project details, including progress, risks, and opportunities promptly.
• Assist crew members to load and unload materials as needed.
• Assist crew members to remove, fill, compacting, and prepare the terrain.
• Install silt fencing and erosion control blankets using a variety of hand tools.
• Perform site clean-up and reload leftover materials after the job assignment is complete.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a valid driver's license and three years verifiable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Must pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screen.
• Ability to understand/follow directions and take instructions in English.
• Physically able to walk, bend, squat, and lift to 50 lbs.
• Work under inclement weather conditions such as rain, heat, and cold.
• Must have prior work experience as a Crew Lead.
• Must have prior experience in operating small machineries such as Bobcat and other excavating equipment.
• Prior experience driving ½ or ¾ ton trucks, with a 20+ foot trailer attached, fully loaded.
• Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) is a plus.
