Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Project Cost Engineer to support the development and management of the project financial strategy. You will partner with the project management team to manage budgets, costs, change orders, pricing requests, billings, and forecasts.

You will generate reports, identify variances and risks, and maintain quality control processes to improve cost procedures. Travel to nationwide projects is expected as part of this fast-paced, safety-sensitive role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a related field.
• 0-3 years of Project Cost experience.
• Preferred 1 year of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of project development stages, procurement, project controls, and construction execution practices is required.
• Working knowledge of PMWeb or similar project portfolio management software, DataServ, Excel, JD Edwards, or related software programs.

Responsibilities

• Work with all project disciplines to understand total project cost budget allowances and targets.
• Review project documents and specifications to identify, develop and track change orders, baseline estimates, risks, and impacts to targets.
• Coordinate with accounting to ensure accurate billings, payments, change orders, direct costs, and labor costs.
• Collaborate with project management, executives, subcontractors, and clients as needed.
• Perform cost engineering, cost estimation, analysis, and cost control activities for complex projects.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, consistency, spend profile, and transparency in cost management deliverables.
• Own the cost control function and ensure integrity of cost and forecast reporting.
