Job summary

The Poole and Kent Corporation in Ohio is seeking a Cost Accountant, Construction (Project Support) to manage full-cycle cost accounting related to project pay applications. This role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll data in compliance with company policies and federal laws.

The position is non-remote, based in Franklin Furnace, OH, and reports to Project Management / CFO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Construction Management.
• Experience with cost accounting and construction/payable processes is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop pay applications in accordance with upstream contractual requirements.
• Audit accounts payable invoices for project pay applications.
• Audit payroll data and certify payroll reports.
• Ensure timesheets and time cards are accurate and approved.
• Create Excel reports and feed data to rollup workbooks.
• Develop timely and accurate project pay applications.
• Protect payroll data and maintain confidentiality.
• Work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act and related laws.
