Note: This is an unpaid internship. Service members will continue to receive their military pay and benefits.

Job Description

The Construction Coordinator works closely with the Construction Project Manager, Construction Manager, Monitor Manager, and other field staff during a large electrical utility project in Texas. Responsibilities include supporting all construction administrative tasks such as contract management, subcontractor compliance, scheduling, document management, onboarding training, inventory management, and GPS tracking. The role requires professionalism, organization, and teamwork, and may involve travel within Texas.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience in engineering, engineering management, construction management, or project management from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in engineering, construction, or electric power and communications industries
  • Experience with project scheduling, reporting, and administration
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of project management processes and tools
  • Understanding of project lifecycles and scheduling techniques
  • Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
  • Support the execution of construction administration tasks
  • Assist in training project staff on contract terms and project procedures
  • Collaborate on budget estimates and progress reports
  • Respond to project issues and facilitate communication among stakeholders
  • Participate in project meetings and document actions
  • Manage inventory of equipment and vehicles
  • Assist onboarding of new personnel
  • Help process construction documents such as pay estimates, invoices, RFI, change requests, and notices
  • Prepare construction status reports
  • Support document control and GPS tracking system implementation
