Pay Range: $92,750 - $96,000.
As a Construction Coordinator, you will lead JM’s construction team and be accountable for the construction execution of Capital and Asset Replacement projects ranging from $50,000 to multi‑million dollars. Your role will involve construction planning, client construction design and management representation, site control, constructability reviews, and installation quality control, among other responsibilities. You will coordinate contractors, maintain the installation plan with the Program Manager and Project Team, and ensure critical stakeholders are aligned on temporary or permanent construction activities to safely achieve scope, schedule, and budget.
Responsibilities
- Supervise multiple plant construction projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to manning budgets, and delivery to quality requirements.
- Generate and enforce site procedures and Safe Work Practices to meet QA/QC standards and control contractor workforce.
- Provide input and commentary on the planning of construction materials ordering, delivery, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
- Own the site plan for identifying and moving people, resources, and equipment to meet program plans across current and future years.
- Pre‑qualify and adjudicate offers/tenders for contractors in a fair and transparent manner.
- Maintain strong communication with the operations team and broader JM community to coordinate project delivery and secure specialist resources for plant handover and startup.
- Ensure completion and handover of project‑to‑project procedures, championing improvements from project to commissioning and operations teams.
- Work with project Controls and commercial teams to provide timely reporting of project progress, identifying issues that may affect schedule, budget or quality.
- Provide oversight of all construction activities in line with industry and JM Health & Safety standards, local regulations, and security requirements.
- Deliver contractor inductions, competency assessments, and review contractor method statements, risk assessments, and Permits to Work.
- Participate in and support constructability reviews as required.
- Ensure all construction and demolition waste is disposed of correctly and in accordance with JM Waste Management policy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, engineering, or related industry (required).
- Experience in project management, site management, or safety training, and familiarity with operations and construction permits (desired).
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within a brownfield and/or greenfield multi‑discipline execution team across client and contractor teams (desired).
- Knowledge of CDM/IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications and willingness to undertake additional training within 12 months (desired).
- Experience in plant handover (mechanical completion) and configuring plant for commissioning and operational handover (desired).
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills (required).
- Working knowledge of QA/QC installation procedures, test plans, and relevant H&S legislation (required).
- Experience with project controls for monitoring progress and cost control (required).
