Job summary

Johnson Matthey is seeking a Facilities Engineer to coordinate preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshoot industrial systems and support reliability initiatives. You will work under limited supervision in a fast-paced environment within a facilities team in the United States.

Responsibilities include inspecting building systems, overseeing contractor work, creating work scopes, and ensuring CMMS maintenance records. Hybrid work options and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • B.S Degree in Engineering or 4 years of on-the-job experience as a Building/Facilities Engineer.
  • BAS / SCADA
  • Experience working in a commercial or industrial manufacturing environment – Desired
  • Basic knowledge of financial terms and principles required with the ability to maintain detailed budget - Desired
  • Adaptable and can work in a dynamic fast paced environment
  • Able to balance risk and cost, and experience of risk management
  • Must have a can-do mindset and excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Can flex easily with workload demands and comfortable with frequent changes associated with a manufacturing facility

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, critical support systems to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities.
  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by contract services and coordinate with Maintenance Scheduler.
  • Address issues that arise and coordinate corrective action plans.
  • Ensure proper review and reporting of corrective/preventive maintenance via the CMMS.
  • Update and file maintenance records as appropriate.
  • Create work scopes, purchase requisitions, identify spare parts and supplies.
  • Standardize work via SOPs and CMMS.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and provide guidance to Maintenance Staff.
  • Plan and host contract service work as needed.
  • Routinely support the reliability initiative sitewide.
  • Support one-off projects as directed by Maintenance Manager/Sr. Reliability Engineer

Education

B.S Degree in Engineering
4 years on-the-job Building/Facilities Engineer experience
BAS / SCADA
Budget awareness and financial terms

We are seeking a highly motivated Facilities Engineer with advanced skills to coordinate preventive/corrective maintenance and troubleshoot industrial systems, equipment, and support reliability engineering. Working under limited supervision in a fast -paced environment is required.

The Role:
As a Facilities Engineer, you will help drive our goals by:
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, critical support systems to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities.
  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by contract services. Contracted work may include any of the following, but not limited to landscaping, snow removal, site aesthetics, roof repairs, HVAC, compressed air, chillers, cooling towers, emergency power generators, MEP, etc.
  • Address issues that arise, develop a corrective action plan and coordinate with the Maintenance Scheduler.
  • Ensure proper review and reporting of corrective/preventive maintenance via the CMMS
  • Ensure that all maintenance records are updated and filed as appropriate
  • Create work scopes as needed, purchase requisitions, identify spare parts, materials and supplies to complete all tasks
  • Standardize work to be performed via work instruction, SOP, checklist, or CMMS
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations
  • On an as-needed basis provide technical guidance and/or training to Maintenance Staff
  • Plan and host contract service work as needed
  • Routinely support the reliability initiative sitewide.
  • Support one-off projects/initiatives as directed by Maintenance Manager and/or Sr. Reliability Engineer
Key Skills that will help you succeed in this role:
  • B.S Degree in Engineering or 4 years of on-the-job experience as a Building/Facilities Engineer
