Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a hands-on Controller for a rapidly growing construction group undergoing integration and modernisation. The role focuses on percentage-of-completion accounting, WIP reporting, and building a scalable finance function to support acquisitions.

The Controller will replace fractional accounting support, establish robust controls, and lead a small field-based accounting team while partnering with PE owners to drive long-term growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and transition responsibilities from the existing fractional accounting team.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger, account reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
• Establish consistent accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting standards across operating entities.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data to support executive leadership and private equity ownership.
