Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Controller for a hands-on leadership role in Northern Virginia. The position leads accounting close, project accounting, and financial reporting for multiple divisions, ensuring GAAP compliance and accurate job-cost data.

The successful candidate will manage the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal controls while partnering with operations to identify variances and risks. In-person work location in Northern Virginia.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with financial statement prep and month-end close.
• Strong construction/project-based accounting experience.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and control practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare GAAP financial statements and ensure GL integrity.
• Maintain project accounting, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
• Oversee AP/AR, billing, cash receipts, and disbursements.
• Improve accounting workflows and internal controls.
