Job summary

The Bowers Group – A Legence Company in Beltsville, Maryland is seeking a highly motivated Controller to join our team. This in-office position supports financial reporting, compliance, and cross-functional operations under the Senior Controller.

The role requires 7+ years of accounting experience (Big 4 preferred), US GAAP expertise, and CPA is strongly preferred. Experience with ERP systems and project costing will be valuable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• At least seven years of accounting experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or corporate accounting.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
• US GAAP knowledge essential.
• ASC 606 and completed percentage of completion accounting knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets, interim forecasts, and corporate reporting.
• Prepare and analyze internal KPI dashboards and monthly/quarterly/year-end financial statements.
• Oversee month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Support annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors.
• Maintain and oversee AR, AP, job costing/contracts, and GL.
