CLA is seeking a Construction industry Controller for our Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) practice, based out of the Minneapolis, MN office. You will manage the designated function(s) for the client and apply GAAP knowledge to financial and operational aspects.

The role emphasizes internal controls, budgeting, financial statements, and collaboration with CLA colleagues; a hybrid, flexible environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred but not required.
• 6 years relevant work experience as a Controller; construction industry experience highly preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Accounting back-office experience required.
• Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks and NetSuite highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops internal control policies for budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
• Coordinates and directs financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investment activities for all or part of an organization.
• Prepare financial information.
• Prepare, or direct preparation of financial statements and reports for regulatory agencies.
• Evaluate needs for funds procurement and investment of surpluses; monitor KPI.
• Monitors and evaluates the performance of accounting staff and implements actions.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
• Communicate with boards, bankers, investors, and constituents; prep for board materials.
