GMEA Services seeks a hands-on Controller in Austin, TX to lead the full accounting function for a fast-growing electrical contractor. You will manage job costing, billing, payroll, AP/AR, and provide financial guidance to price work and manage cash.

You will prepare monthly closes, financial statements, and ensure GAAP and ASC 606 compliance for long-term contracts, coordinating with the owner and outside CPA for audits and tax filings. Remote/hybrid work with occasional on-site collaboration.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).
• 5–7 years accounting experience, with at least 3 years in construction or job costing.
• Experience with WIP, percentage-of-completion, retainage, and progress billing.
• Experience running payroll and AP/AR.

Responsabilidades

• Manage job costing and WIP, including setting up jobs, cost codes, and budgets; track actual vs. estimated labor hours and material costs.
• Prepare monthly WIP schedules with costs to complete, over/under billings, and projected gross profit.
• Lead billing processes, progress billings, change orders, and lien notices; manage receivables and collections.
• Oversee payables and payroll, process vendor invoices, collect W-9s and insurance certificates; run weekly/biweekly payroll.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, close, reconciliations, and GAAP/ASC 606 compliance; coordinate with external CPA for year-end.
• Manage banking, surety, cash flow forecasting, and line of credit administration.
