The ideal candidate has a construction-accounting background and will manage WIP, job profitability, and data flow between systems while evaluating new software platforms and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 5 to 10 years of accounting experience.
• Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and effective internal controls for accounting processes and identify opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency through automation.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting packages.
• Handle month-end close journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Oversee and direct Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
• Collaborate with all departments to improve information flow, implement policies, and protect assets.
• Reconcile credit card and bank statements
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Compile financial records and documents for CPA and bonding purposes.
• Complete General Contractor required pre-qualification documents.
• Prepare monthly sales tax returns.

We are looking for someone who is highly comfortable with technology, enjoys improving processes, and actively looks for opportunities to eliminate repetitive work through better software, integrations, automation, and artificial intelligence.

The ideal candidate combines a strong construction-accounting background with a technology-forward mindset. You should be equally comfortable updating WIP schedules and job profitability as you are evaluating a new software platform, building a workflow, improving data flow between systems, or using AI to automate an administrative process.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure efficient and effective internal controls for accounting processes and identify opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency through automation.
