Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a Construction Controller in Alpharetta, GA. This full-time leadership role will oversee accounting operations, GAAP compliance, audits, and ERP optimization with a focus on Deltek Vantagepoint.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting/financial reporting experience, a relevant degree, and CPA is a plus. Hybrid work model supports on-site and remote work flexibility for a growing construction firm.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting/financial reporting experience, preferably in construction or A/E/C industries.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification preferred (or in progress).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit processes, and internal controls.
• Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams.
• Hands-on experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems.
• Familiarity with construction accounting methods and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting standards.
• Serve as audit lead and primary contact for external auditors.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial policies.
• Analyze financial data and trends to support business decisions.
• Supervise and mentor accounting team members.
• Manage ERP and reporting tools with an emphasis on Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Stay current with evolving accounting standards and industry best practices.
• Support construction-specific accounting needs such as job costing and percentage of completion.
