Minimum Qualifications for GS-0809:

GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) reading, interpreting, clarifying or enforcing construction plans and specifications; 2) providing field measurements, computations and first-hand information of site conditions; 3) documenting daily construction activities; OR 4) assisting in the preparation of cost estimates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full academic year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or another closely related field of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the review and interpretation of construction project plans, drawings and specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or another closely related field of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12.
