Job summary

Sabir, Richardson & Weisberg (SRW) Engineering and Architecture PLLC seeks a Contract Specialist to support a public agency’s construction contracts workload. The role involves preparing project manuals, coordinating scope with engineering disciplines, and guiding contract type decisions and payment provisions.

The position requires a BS in Engineering or Architecture and at least five years of experience with contract documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Architecture or related technical degree.
• Five (5) years’ minimum experience in development, preparation, review, and delivery of contract documents for bidding on multidisciplinary Architecture/Engineering projects.
• Ability to meet schedules and budgets for project deliverables.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn SharePoint/Bluebeam Revu and other systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Contract books (project manuals) with complete project-specific requirements for construction and maintenance contracts.
• Coordinate scope of work with Engineering Design Division disciplines for inclusion in contract books.
• Provide guidance and review comments for bid quality and coordination of contract book elements.
• Advise on contract type and develop project-specific payment provisions.
• Prepare soft cost budgets for Contracts Unit tasks.
• Stay within budget and delivery schedules for a diverse workload.
• Assist in developing staging, milestones, and hours of work and other contract conditions.
• Resolve contract and technical issues with Engineering staff and other Authority departments.
• Collaborate with the agency law department on contracts with unique circumstances.
