Description
The Mechanical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for participating in commissioning processes of HVAC and mechanical systems in new or upgraded buildings. This role ensures that all systems are designed, installed, and tested according to project design documents and specifications. The engineer will participate in project commissioning requirements across the Mission Critical project portfolio.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in project design, planning, installation, startup, commissioning, and turnover.
- Create detailed commissioning plans, checklists, and schedules for HVAC and mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, design drawings, submittals, codes, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with personnel performing installation, startup, and commissioning of HVAC and mechanical systems. Interface between site personnel, project management, and client stakeholders.
- Verify all equipment is installed and operating according to design specifications, manufacturers' guidelines, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with design engineers, contractors, and project managers to integrate commissioning activities into the overall project timeline.
- Participate in project meetings to coordinate work and resolve system performance and commissioning issues.
- Witness system testing and performance verification to ensure HVAC and mechanical systems meet efficiency, safety, and reliability criteria.
- Prepare comprehensive commissioning documentation, including functional performance tests, reports, and as-built documentation.
- Track all commissioning activities and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve issues with HVAC and mechanical systems during commissioning.
- Coordinate corrective actions to resolve deficiencies or malfunctions.
- Assist in training building operators and maintenance staff on system operation and maintenance.
- Ensure operational manuals, warranties, and maintenance documentation are provided at handover.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work on construction sites and in various environments.
- Availability to travel as needed.
