HDI Global Insurance Company in Chicago, IL is seeking a Casualty Construction Associate Underwriter to support underwriting for new and renewal construction casualty accounts. You will review submissions, process policies, and maintain compliant underwriting files while delivering timely service to brokers and internal partners.

The role requires 1–3 years of insurance experience, a high school diploma (bachelor's preferred), and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting of new and renewal construction casualty accounts, including intake, review, and triage of submissions.
• Evaluate submissions for completeness and follow up on outstanding items (applications, loss runs, financials, project and subcontractor details).
• Assist with account clearance, pre-bind processing, and underwriting file setup in internal systems.
• Process policy transactions including new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
• Prepare binders, policies, and endorsements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with quoted and bound term.
• Maintain complete and organized underwriting files and documentation throughout the account lifecycle.
• Respond to broker inquiries and provide timely updates on submission, documentation, and policy status.
• Coordinate with underwriting, claims, accounting, and operations to support account servicing and resolve issues.
• Track renewal activity and support follow-up to drive service quality and retention.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, authority levels, and surplus lines requirements.
