Job description

Cennox is seeking a Carpenter to work in the Philadelphia, PA area. The primary focus is on commercial construction and renovation services for financial institutions.

Position Summary:

The Carpenter will manage onsite commercial renovation projects, primarily after hours and on weekends. The ideal candidate will have construction experience, work independently, possess excellent communication skills, and be organized using MS Office tools. The goal is to ensure smooth communication with clients, subcontractors, and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct site surveys with the Project Manager to develop initial project plans.
2. Coordinate material orders, equipment delivery, and inspections to support project schedules.
3. Ensure site safety and compliance with safety policies.
4. Review and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer data.
5. Assess construction documents for completeness and constructability.
6. Manage project schedules, including 3-week look-ahead plans and updates.
7. Generate RFIs to clarify project details and discrepancies.
8. Follow quality control procedures.
9. Lead preconstruction planning meetings.
10. Hold on-site meetings with subcontractors and trades to define scope and quality standards.
11. Manage subcontractors' work on-site.
12. Maintain an organized and clean job site, adhering to waste disposal and environmental standards.
13. Track progress, document with photos, and report onsite hours via mobile app.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of construction management or carpentry experience.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Clean DMV record, pass drug and background checks.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Reliable transportation and flexible working hours.
• Work occurs after hours, nights, and weekends.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience with interior finishes.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and move 50+ pounds.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including in bad weather.
