Construction Assistant

A Construction Assistant will help with a myriad of tasks to assist project managers in successfully completing projects and assignments. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing project documentation, preparing meeting packages and pricing packages, distributing information with subcontractors and project team members, and maintaining operation and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to the Project Manager.
• Communicates daily with project management staff, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• Ensures effective communication, consistent quality of work products, and timely delivery of documentation.
• Communicates clearly, concisely, and professionally, tailoring style to the audience.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Four‑year degree from an accredited university.
• Preferred: Prior experience with a professional organization that demonstrates accountability, professionalism, and organizational skills.
• Self‑motivated and proactive, taking initiative and seeking responsibility.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Microsoft‑based software.
• Ability to adapt to and learn sector‑specific, project‑specific, and other software systems.
• Integrity: behaves consistently with the HITT Way in all matters.
• Commitment to self‑development and continuous improvement of knowledge and abilities.
• Collaborative teamwork skills, able to work with people of diverse backgrounds and styles.

Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with Virginia Senate Bill 215 (SB 215), the base salary range for this position is $69,300.00–$85,800.00. Salary is determined by experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training. HITT Contracting offers a competitive total benefits package including performance‑based bonuses, premium health care coverage (vision and dental), employer‑matched 401(k), wellness reimbursement program, paid holidays and time‑off, and other voluntary benefits and leave types.
