Bielinski Homes, Inc. is seeking a Construction Assistant to support on-site building activities in Wisconsin. The role involves assisting trades, handling materials, and maintaining safety and quality on active home construction sites.

You will work with carpenters, electricians and plumbers, perform basic equipment tasks, and help ensure projects stay on schedule. A strong work ethic, reliability and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in construction is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment; good communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented and able to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Site Preparation: Clear debris, set up temporary structures and ensure safety.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload and transport construction materials and equipment.
  • Construction Support: Assist carpenters, electricians and plumbers with tasks as needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Use basic construction tools and operate equipment safely.
  • Clean-Up: Keep site organized and store tools properly.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines for a safe work environment.
  • Quality Control: Help inspect completed work for quality.
  • Reporting: Inform supervisor of issues or delays promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with others to meet project goals and deadlines.

Job Summary: The Construction Assistant will perform various physical tasks on construction sites to support the building process. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and efficient completion of home building projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, setting up temporary structures, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment to and from the site.
  • Construction Support: Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, with various tasks as needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate basic construction equipment and tools, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
  • Clean-Up: Maintain a clean and organized worksite by removing waste materials and ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Quality Control: Assist in inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications.
  • Reporting: Communicate any issues or delays to the site supervisor or project manager promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment, strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, and good communication skills.
  • Attributes: Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, ability to follow instructions, and a strong work ethic.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work both indoors in an office setting and outdoors year-round. Potential exposure to adverse weather conditions including temperature extremes and/or precipitation.
  • Ability to travel to unfinished job sites, inspect completed work and traverse uneven and/or graded terrain.
  • Medium physical exertion (i.e. lifting up to 50lbs) may be required
