Job summary

Northernpoolandspa is seeking a Construction Assistant in Fishkill, NY to support pool construction activities and ensure timely project progress. You will assist with excavation, plumbing, steelwork, concrete, tiling, decking, and equipment installation while maintaining safety on site.

You’ll perform hands-on labor, transport materials, and document work orders with photos and readings. A valid driver’s license, basic construction knowledge, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or pool installation is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, concrete work, and general construction practices.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Capability to lift moderate to heavy objects, typically around 50 lbs., with occasional up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to collaborate with others and to follow instructions and safety rules.
• You must be able to work independently on assigned tasks and seek guidance when needed.
• Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and strong teamwork ability.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all phases of pool construction, including excavation, plumbing, steelwork, concrete, tiling, decking, and equipment installation.
• Perform hands-on labor tasks, including digging, leveling, and material handling.
• Confirm that any aspect of the project installation complies with the project specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company safety guidelines on job sites.
• Identify and troubleshoot minor construction challenges in real time.
• Transport materials, tools, and other supplies to job sites.
• Complete work orders and record all activities, including services done, before/after pictures, and chemical readings and dosages.
• Ensure job sites are kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
• Keep the truck organized and stocked.
• Follow and promote safety procedures
