Job summary

Athena Engineering, Inc. is a San Dimas-based family-owned mechanical HVAC and building automation contractor seeking an accounting professional to handle AP/AR in a construction environment. You will process invoices, code them to the right job, and assist with billing and vendor setup.

You will work on Excel spreadsheets, build cost analyses, and support the team across accounting, PMs, and project admins. High school diploma required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounting experience covering AP and AR.
• 1 year of commercial construction accounting.
• Hands-on ERP experience in construction environments (Sage/Oracle/Trimble/NetSuite).
• Advanced Excel skills to build complex spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Process and input vendor and subcontractor invoices and code to the correct job and cost code.
• Write purchase orders and match invoices against PO and contracts.
• Create customer invoices and keep accounts current, pursuing past-due balances.
• Request lien waivers, manage preliminary notices, and set up new vendors with required docs.
• Collaborate with projects team on billing and perform ongoing spreadsheet-based analyses.
