Athena Engineering, Inc. is seeking an accounting professional to handle AP/AR in our San Dimas office, supporting a 40-person construction team. You'll code invoices, issue purchase orders, and work with project managers to keep jobs billed and payments current.

The role emphasizes strong Excel skills, accurate math, and experience with ERP systems such as Sage, Oracle, or NetSuite. A high school diploma is required; no degree is necessary.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounting experience covering both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• 1 year of commercial construction accounting.
• Experience with true construction or mid-market ERP system, such as Sage ERP, Oracle, Trimble, or NetSuite.
• Advanced Excel: build calculating spreadsheets, write formulas, and run basic macros.
• Real command of math, numbers, and logic; accurate billing and payments depend on it.
• A high school diploma or GED; no college degree required.

Responsibilities

• Process and input vendor and subcontractor invoices; code to correct job and cost code.
• Write purchase orders and match invoices against POs and contracts.
• Create customer invoices; keep accounts current; pursue past-due payments.
• Request lien waivers, manage preliminary notices, and vendor setup with needed documentation.
• Work in Excel to build self-updating spreadsheets.
