Job summary

MasTec, Inc. invites applicants to join an on-the-job apprenticeship program focused on core construction skills, safety, and productive work habits. Trainees progress toward specialized concentrations such as Industrial, Wind, and Solar Construction while mentored by journeymen.

Participants will learn safety orientations, basic construction math, hand and power tools, and site procedures, with compensation starting at $20 per hour and a clear path to career advancement and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• 0 to 4,000 On the job Training hours
• Experience using basic power tools preferred

Responsibilities

• Exhibit an enthusiasm to learn.
• Display an eagerness to build knowledge and develop skills.
• Attend formal training and complete on-the-job training.
• Complete homework to build knowledge and skillset and meet apprenticeship requirements.
• Keep log of on-the-job training activities.
• Complete all tests, presentations, and evaluations.
• Build professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Observe health and safety procedures.
• Promote and comply with company and safety policies.
• Attend training onsite to learn new tools and work procedures.
• Learn and perform general tasks involving physical labor and operate hand/power tools.
• May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, and assist with scaffolding and cleanup.
• Adhere to standards and rules; comply with legal regulations.
• Perform tasks as directed by Journeyman/Supervisor.
• May assist other craft workers; meet deadlines and work to schedules.
• Solve problems and think critically to resolve issues.
• Follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
