Job summary

Sabey Corporation is seeking a Construction Accounts Payable Lead to join their Tukwila, WA team. This high-volume, hands-on role focuses on accurate vendor, subcontractor, and employee pay across multiple states, with emphasis on process improvement and robust internal controls.

Responsibilities include weekly check runs, subcontractor pay apps, intercompany activity, and billings, plus contributing to documentation and automation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years accounting or related experience.
• 3+ years accounts payable experience.
• Strong understanding of AP best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience with Yardi or similar accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-volume AP across multiple states, including invoice coding and data entry.
• Process subcontractor pay applications and ensure timely data entry.
• Prepare and facilitate weekly check runs and payment releases.
• Support monthly credit card processing.
• Process, enter, and post billings AP.
• Handle intercompany transactions and related data entry.
• Manage AP emails and ensure timely, responsive service.
• Build relationships with Sabey employees, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Apply AP best practices and ensure compliance with standards.
• Contribute to policy development and process documentation.
• Support automation and modernization of accounting practices.
• Participate in special AP projects as needed.
