Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services seeks an experienced Construction Accountant to support AIA billing and project accounting in Alpharetta, GA. This on-site role collaborates with sales and project teams to ensure accurate financial processing.

Key duties include processing invoices, managing progress billing, AR aging, and month-end close tasks. The position offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of AIA Billing experience at a mid-sized construction organization (required)
• 3+ years of Construction or Environmental Services Industry (Required)
• Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) (required)
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Process 100-200 invoices per billing cycle with a high degree of accuracy.
• Collaborate with sales coordinators to review sales orders and input data into billing invoices.
• Manage construction progress billing, including tracking project milestones and preparing progress payment applications.
• Handle maintenance billing for commercial landscaping services.
• Process and reconcile credit card transactions.
• AR Aging analysis - monitor outstanding receivables and support collection efforts as needed.
• Book AP entries, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and other payables.
• Assist with general accounting tasks to support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls.
