Job summary

HKS, Inc. is seeking an architect/engineer with a broad knowledge of architectural principles to autonomously evaluate techniques and solve problems on small to mid‑scale projects through construction administration.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the owner, design team and contractor, reviewing RFIs and submittals, ensuring conformance with contract documents and design intent, and preparing field reports. Travel will be required.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture.
• Typically 4+ years of experience.
• Architectural registration preferred; sustainability accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Employs standard protocol for communication with owner, architect/engineer team and contractor staff.
• Proactively applies knowledge of codes and building systems to projects.
• Reviews RFIs and submittals and maintains documents using HKS document management software.
• Effectively communicates with designers to gain understanding of design intent.
• Coordinates with design team, issues required document revisions and communicates changes to contract documents.
• Monitors changes outside basic services and notifies PM of potential additional services.
• Performs site visits, observations and inspections and prepares field reports.
• Travel will be required.
