Job summary

BWBR Architects, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Administrator to join our Minneapolis–St. Paul team.

You will bridge design intent and field execution, overseeing project delivery with attention to quality, code compliance, and client satisfaction across multiple commercial projects. You will attend OAC meetings, review submittals and RFIs, and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or equivalent related experience.
• 5–15 years of experience in construction administration.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, materials, and detailing.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction administration for multiple commercial projects.
• Attend construction OAC meetings and perform site observation visits.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and communications; use Newforma.
• Ensure work aligns with construction documents, codes, and specifications.
• Coordinate liaison between project team and contractor for smooth communication.
• Collaborate with design team to resolve construction issues.
• Maintain quality control and adherence to budgets and schedules.
• Monitor project construction schedules and progress; coordinate close-out of projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as the vital link between the design intent and construction reality, overseeing project execution to ensure quality, compliance, and client satisfaction. You'll be embedded in the construction process, working closely with Owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage construction administration services for multiple commercial projects simultaneously
• Attend construction OAC meetings, perform site observation visits, and prepare and distribute field reports
• Review and process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other communications through Newforma plus other programs, if required
• Ensure construction is aligned with construction documents, codes, and specifications
• Act as a liaison between the project team and the contractor to ensure smooth communication
• Collaborate with the project design team to resolve design issues that arise during construction
• Maintain quality control and adherence to project budgets and schedules
• Monitor the project construction schedule - document and track construction progress
• Coordinate punch lists, substantial completion inspection and project close-out

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or equivalent related experience
• 5-15 years of experience in construction administration
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, materials, and detailing
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Newforma or similar construction administration software
• Architecture licensure or certification is a plus but not required
• Experience working within the healthcare and science & technology markets a plus
• Travel required
