Job summary

Actalent, a leading engineering and sciences services firm, is seeking a Construction Administration Architect for a hybrid role based in Washington, DC. You will lead construction administration activities, serve as the primary architectural liaison during construction, conduct site visits, review RFIs and submittals, and coordinate with MEP and structural teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture, 8+ years of experience, and licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 8+ years of professional architectural experience.
• Proven experience leading project teams through design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
• Strong background in multifamily, mixed-use, urban infill, commercial, or large-scale base building projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, including Revit Architecture, for documentation and coordination.
• Experience with construction drawings and architectural design for complex building types.
• Experience with Bluebeam and other project documentation tools.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, permitting processes, and industry standards.
• Demonstrated success managing consultants and coordinating technical documentation.
• Experience in project management for both internal and external stakeholders during construction.
• Strong construction administration experience, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field coordination.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical judgment in addressing field conditions and construction challenges.
• Strong communication skills for client-facing interactions and collaboration with contractors and consultants.

• Support punch list inspections, substantial completion reviews, and project closeout activities.
• Maintain thorough project documentation, correspondence, and construction records throughout the life of the project.
• Monitor construction quality and advocate for adherence to the project’s design, performance, and technical standards.
• Interpret construction documents and provide clear technical guidance regarding architectural details, building systems, materials, and code compliance.
• Identify potential project risks and proactively develop solutions that minimize delays, cost impacts, and construction conflicts.
• Work closely with project managers and design teams to communicate construction issues and implement effective resolutions.
• Foster strong relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and internal project teams through proactive communication and collaboration.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of construction administration best practices within the office.
• Mentor junior staff by sharing technical knowledge, construction insights, and project delivery best practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $125000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
