Qualifications

Job Title: Architectural Job Captain / Architectural Designer

Job Description

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Architectural Job Captain or Designer to lead the production of design deliverables, construction documentation, and construction administration tasks. You will coordinate multiple architectural projects, ensure compliance with applicable codes, and guide teams in delivering high-quality contract documents on time and within scope. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys balancing design leadership, technical documentation, and project coordination while mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate the production of high-quality contract documents based on prototype and project-specific requirements.
• Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of multiple architectural projects to ensure they remain on schedule and within scope.
• Ensure all designs and documents comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and standards.
• Guide and support the extended team in creating complete design and construction document packages.
• Collaborate closely with Project Architects and Project Managers to maintain the design vision and project intent throughout all phases.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to achieve successful project delivery.
• Provide mentorship, direction, and feedback to junior design staff to support their professional growth.
• Lead the preparation of construction documents and permit sets, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and coordination among disciplines.
• Participate in construction administration tasks as needed, supporting the project team through the construction phase.
• Work independently and communicate effectively with team members, including in remote collaboration settings.
• Take projects from schematic design through to completed construction documents, ensuring design continuity and technical quality.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Architectural Designer, Job Captain, Project Manager, or Project Architect.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working on government, public works, or large-scale tenant improvement (TI) projects.
• Strong proficiency in Revit (rated 8/10) for architectural design and documentation.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (rated 8/10) for architectural design and documentation.
• Demonstrated experience taking at least one project from schematic design through to construction documents.
• Extensive experience assembling construction documents and permit sets.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality output.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a remote or hybrid collaboration environment.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations relevant to K–12, public works, or large-scale TI projects.
• Proficiency in architectural design, including coordination of design intent with technical documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on large-scale tenant improvement (TI) projects, K–12 facilities, or public works projects.
• Experience in Revit Architecture for integrated design and documentation workflows.
• Experience in construction documentation and construction administration tasks.
• Interest in mentoring and developing junior design staff.
• Comfort collaborating with Project Architects and Project Managers to maintain project vision and quality.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role based in a Las Vegas office. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The position is classified as salary exempt. The studio culture emphasizes work-life balance, with a strong focus on allowing team members to do their jobs effectively and then enjoy their time outside of work, resulting in overtime being rarely required. Leadership actively supports professional growth and invests in employees’ development. The team offers a collaborative and supportive environment, with approximately three weeks of paid time off, quarterly office events, and periodically catered lunches that foster a positive and engaging workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
