Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation, based in Las Vegas, NV, seeks an Accounts Payable professional to process daily AP, match invoices to POs, and ensure timely, accurate payments while serving vendors and internal teams. The role requires 5 years of AP experience, strong Excel/Word/Outlook, and a solid accounting background.

Preferred is knowledge of Timberline, Workday, and Sage; a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance is a plus. Expect variable shifts including weekends/holidays; on-site work in Las Vegas.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in accounts payable required.
  • Must have intermediate level skills with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook, basic office equipment, and 10-key by touch.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles, accounting practices and theories.
  • Previous experience with construction accounting and/or job costing desired.
  • Working knowledge of state specific regulatory requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (in English).
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to obtain/maintain necessary certifications and/or licenses.
  • Team playing, production, innovative and intellectual curiosity emphasized.

Responsibilities

  • Performs day to day processing of accounts payable transactions.
  • Review reports to create payment in accordance with guidelines.
  • Validate payments within company guidelines.
  • Deliver dependable customer service to vendors and Boyden employees.
  • Provide additional support to the department as requested.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents.
  • Coordinate to obtain missing vendor information and resolve variances.
  • Ensure payments follow vendor terms and capture discounts.
  • Verify, calculate, and accrue tax as applicable in jurisdictions.
  • Communicate problems or discrepancies to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Observe and follow all safety procedures.

Job Description

Performs day to day processing of accounts payable transactions in connection with theoperation. Review reports to create payment in accordance with departmental andcontractual guidelines. Validate that payments are being made within the companyguidelines. Deliver dependable customer service to both the vendors as well as Boydemployees. Provide additional support to the department as requested

  • Match vendor invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, verifythat all documentation is accurate and in accordance with all accountingpolicies and procedures.
  • Coordinates to receive missing vendor information and resolve variances.
  • Ensure that payment is in accordance with vendor terms and all availablediscounts are captured.
  • Verify, calculate, and accrue tax as applicable within all the jurisdiction wherewe do business.
  • Communicates problems or discrepancies to supervisor/management in atimely and efficient manner.
  • Observes and follows all safety procedures.
  • Performs all other job related duties as requested.

  • Previous knowledge and experience with Timberline
  • Previous knowledge and experience with financial systems (Workday, Sage)
  • Previous experience working for a construction company
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management orequivalent.
