Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking a skilled auditor/accountant to manage gaming and non-gaming audit activities along with accounts receivable. You will compile and analyze data, ensure SOX compliance, and support internal controls.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, integrity, and the capacity to work across departments. You will handle month-end closes, tax reconciliations, and collaborate with various audit bodies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent.
  • IRS, Payroll and Nevada taxes knowledge a plus.
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook, basic office equipment, and 10-key.
  • Change management abilities; developing solutions requiring shifts in practices.
  • Proven decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business publications/regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal and accounting controls for gaming operations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; professional demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Gaming, Non-Gaming Audit and Accounts Receivable areas for daily audits and data analysis.
  • Maintain and report accurate financial data per SOX, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Create month end journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly accounting reconciliations of related tax liability accounts.
  • Evaluate new technology opportunities for process improvement.
  • Liaise with internal, external and government audit agencies.
  • Coordinate audits with taxation authorities in Financial Shared Services.
  • Observe and follow safety procedures.
  • Perform all duties per department policies.

Job Description

Responsible for the Gaming, Non-Gaming Audit and Accounts Receivable areas for completing daily audits, compiling, and analyzing information for gaming/non-gaming audit areas. Maintains and reports accurate financial data in accordance with SOX, regulatory requirements, and internal controls standards.

  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls
  • Create month end journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly accounting reconciliations of related tax liability accounts
  • Evaluate new technology opportunities for continuous process improvement.
  • Liaise with internal, external and government audit agencies

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent.
  • Previous knowledge of IRS, Payroll and Nevada taxes a plus
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook, basic office equipment, and 10-key.
  • Clear understanding of change management abilities. This should include participating in the development of solutions which require comprehensive shifts in operational practices.
  • Proven decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Must possess an in depth knowledge of internal and accounting control procedures of gaming operations.
  • Excellent written, verbal and public presentation communication skills and demonstrate ability to resolve all situations in a professional manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Have initiative, stride for continuous improvement.
  • Strong team player that has a direct approach and is solution oriented.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to effectively communicate and present in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses.

PREFERRED:

  • Previous knowledge and experience with Boyd Gaming Corporation gaming and financial systems (ACSC, CMS, Micros, Infogenesis, LMS).
  • Previous experience working in a similar casino resort or Financial Shared Services Center setting.
