Vaco is seeking an Accounting Manager (Construction) to be on-site in Roswell/Alpharetta, with 5x on-site work weekly. The role leads AP, AR, project accounting, and cash management for multiple active projects, ensuring accurate job costing and timely financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction accounting, a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and proficiency with construction software such as Sage 300, Viewpoint, Foundation, or QuickBooks Contractor.

• 5+ years accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based industries.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, and construction billing formats.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Mansioni

• Oversee full-cycle AP, including vendor invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment scheduling.
• Ensure subcontractor invoices, lien waivers, insurance certificates/COIs, and compliance documents are properly collected and validated.
• Maintain accurate job cost allocations and ensure expenses are posted to the correct project and cost code.
• Prepare and submit customer billings, including progress billings, AIA-style invoices, and change order documentation.
• Monitor collections, follow up on outstanding receivables, and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Track retention and ensure timely release and collection.
• Maintain accurate project financials, budgets, and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Work closely with project managers to review job cost reports, forecast cash needs.
• Monitor daily cash flow and prepare short-term and long-term cash forecasts.
• Manage outgoing payments to optimize cash position while meeting vendor and subcontractor obligations.
• Coordinate with leadership on cash strategy and financial planning.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate posting of all transactions.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
• Support quarterly and year-end reporting, audits, and tax preparation.
