Independence Construction is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the company’s accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting, project and job-cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting, controls, and process improvement. This role collaborates with accounting, project management, operations, and executive leadership while developing the accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee project accounting and job-cost reporting across the company’s project portfolio.
• Partner with project management and operations teams to support accurate and timely project financial reporting.
• Assist with the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting operations.
• Support the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and reporting tools.
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting and financial initiatives as needed
